After yesterday’s technical (thanks, Spreaker!) debacle, there WAS a show today:
I started out discussing Tuesday’s debate – the one where Mike Pence was thoroughly Presidential and Tim Kaine was not. These are some of the stories about it that caught my attention:

Constitutional Sound Bites – David Shestokas
First up was a brief discussion about a debate David just attended on the constitutionality of voter ID laws (Hans Van Spakowski, of The Heritage Foundation and a previous HausGuest, was one of the participants:

Once we got around to the book, we talked about what the Constitution originally said about what happens when the President dies –> the Vice President would assume the responsibilities but NOT the title. That was later amended and now the VP BECOMES the President.

HausGuest – Bre Payton
Bre writes on culture, among other things, for one of my favorite sites, The Federalist. We were able to go through the entire segment with only the smallest mention of the Presidential contest!
I ended the show lamenting California’s Senatorial choices for next month’s elections: two Democrats
