11.18 #HausRules – Some Trump Admin Choices and HausGuests Lee Edwards of Heritage and Dan Chambers

Fridays are a mixed bag: final show of the week (Sad!) BUT they are always great. Today’s was no exception – due almost entirely to two fantastic guests.

Listen to today’s entire show here: Listen to “#HausRules – 11.18.16” on Spreaker.

HausGuest – Lee Edwards

As a senior staffer at The Heritage Foundation, Lee was “dancing on the ceiling” this morning over the possibilities and plans about the potential changes coming to Washington under a Republican-led White House and Congress. The man was giddy. And it was intoxicating!

We talked about the various things that Heritage is doing right now to influence the direction of the new administration in order to have as much of a conservative impact as possible, including the Supreme Court, Obamacare, border security, and more.

Here’s his recent Daily Signal piece on the election and its aftermath:screen-shot-2016-11-18-at-8-56-00-am

Here is a portion of his impressive bio:

Lee Edwards, distinguished fellow in conservative thought at The Heritage Foundation, is a leading historian of American conservatism and the author or editor of 25 books.

Edwards also is adjunct professor of politics at the Catholic University of America and chairman of a foundation that dedicated the Victims of Communism Memorial in Washington, D.C., in 2007. His books include biographies of Ronald Reagan, Barry Goldwater, William F. Buckley, Jr. and Edwin Meese III as well as histories of The Heritage Foundation and the American conservative movement.

Edwards was the founding director of the Institute of Political Journalism at Georgetown University and a fellow at the Institute of Politics at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. He is a past president of the Philadelphia Society and a media fellow at the Hoover Institution.

He recommended two of his books:

Ask the Counselor – Dan Chambers

As per usual, Dan and I had a GREAT segment and totally ran out of time.

We talked about the impact of the newly-passed marijuana legislation in California.

We also talked about the concept of “sanctuary campuses” nationwide for undocumented immigrant illegal alien students:screen-shot-2016-11-18-at-9-01-08-am
