Heads up: next week’s #HausRules will FEATURE replays of the year’s most listened-to HausGuest segments. It will NOT be live.
So, today’s was the FINAL live show of the year.
And it was GLORIOUS (thanks to two of my MOST-favored guests):Listen to “#HausRules – 12.23.16” on Spreaker.
I began the show talking about an extremely important fight raging in Santa Barbara. The forest service wants to widen a fire break in the hills north of the city. Conservation activists want to limit the potential catastrophic damage to the legless lizard and manzanita chapparal in the area. I can see both sides’ points and am extraordinarily conflicted about the whole thing:
Ask the Counselor – Dan Chambers
Dan and I discussed two different cases:
- Families of the Orlando nightclub shooting are suing Google, Facebook, and Twitter — asserting that these platforms allowed and sponsored the dissemination of pro-ISIS information, inspiring the shooter:
- The Supreme Court will be considering whether the band “The Slants” can obtain trademark protection on their name:
HausGuest – Mark Tapson
Fun fact: Mark was the FIRST guest of 2016 and also was the LAST guest, as well.
Mark and I talked about two different stories:
- MTV’s New Years Resolutions for White People video:
- A REAL feminist at the Israeli Defense Forces:
Have a GREAT Christmas and New Year.
