#HausRules – 2.4.17 – “The Founder,” Free Speech, and HausGuests NR’s Kevin Williamson and Attorney Dan Chambers

This was a GREAT show: 2 interesting topics to start and 2 of my most-loved HausGuests.

Listen to the entire show here:Listen to “HausRules with Michael Hausam” on Spreaker.

HausGuest – Kevin Williamson

I’d guess Kevin has by now tired of me saying that he’s in the rarified air of my “Must Read” list. But I said it again anyway.

Most of our conversation was about his background (politically and professionally) and only at the very end did we get to discussing current events.

(Again) Bookmark his NRO author page and check out these recent pieces:

Ask the Counselor – Dan Chambers

Dan and I spoke primarily about the Neil Gorsuch nomination.

He pointed out an article we discussed months ago about a study that’d been done about likely Trump nominees based upon their “Scalia-ness”:

Bottom line: Trump kept his word by nominating an originalist from his list. Lefties should rejoice over this: it’s the BEST they could do – Gorsuch has made a big deal about judge’s sometimes having to rule against their own personal beliefs on account of what the law actually says. He is NOT an activist.

Other Topics

  1. I LOVED “The Founder”

  2. I went to an Ayn Rand Institute, The Federalist Society, and Charles Koch Foundation-sponsored free speech event at UCLA Law School (and LOVED IT):

Thank you for reading and listening!
