Just how out of touch is Mitch McConnell?
Here are a few choice tweets from the Republican Senate Majority Leader – none of which address anything that conservatives promised to enact.
He retweeted this:
"We’re not only putting the Senate #BackToWork, we’re putting it back to work on your side." – @SenMajLdr (R-Ky.) https://t.co/J9w9megEMp
— Senate Republicans (@Senate_GOPs) December 19, 2015
And this:
The Republican-led Senate is #BackToWork delivering results for the American people with more work to do in 2016. https://t.co/D4GVKRXbXv
— Senate Republicans (@Senate_GOPs) December 18, 2015
He is NOT being ironic or sarcastic here:
The #GOP is proving you can actually enact significant, long-term reforms, achieve conservative policy goals, & get them signed into law.
— Leader McConnell (@SenateMajLdr) December 18, 2015
Really really really good stuff:
Today the #Senate will: Enact #Tax relief for families & #smallbiz ✓ End ban on #oil exports ✓ Pass landmark #cybersecurity legislation ✓
— Leader McConnell (@SenateMajLdr) December 18, 2015
Salesmanship:
This legislation helps our #economy, national security & strikes another blow to #obamacare. It’s worth supporting.
— Leader McConnell (@SenateMajLdr) December 18, 2015
Bipartisanship:
Congratulations to @jiminhofe, @TomUdallPress & @DavidVitter for getting bipartisan #TSCA reform through #Senate last night. #backtowork
— Leader McConnell (@SenateMajLdr) December 18, 2015
He is making friends with all the important kids:
.@SenatorReid, couldn't agree more. https://t.co/mfpHJ9ETiG
— Leader McConnell (@SenateMajLdr) December 17, 2015
How can you disagree? He is pursuing a HIGHER purpose:
The #Senate has made great strides in 2015. Showing how we can not only get #backtowork, but also return to a place of higher purpose.
— Leader McConnell (@SenateMajLdr) December 18, 2015
Self-congratulatory, but not even close to being a conservative:
I’m proud of what the new #GOP majority has accomplished, not only putting the #Senate #backtowork, we’re helping the American people.
— Leader McConnell (@SenateMajLdr) December 18, 2015
Hey Mitch, how different would any of this had been if Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi were still running things in D.C.? (Quick answer: VERY little…) He maybe putting the Senate #BackToWork, but the work is NOT the work of a conservative.
Be the first to comment on "Mitch McConnell’s Self-Congratulation While Abandoning Conservatives Is Utterly Absurd."
