Wednesday’s HausGuest: Julie Collier of the Parents Advocate League

What would YOU do if you realized that despite living in a great neighborhood with (as assured by the local real estate professionals and everyone else) a “great school district,” your kid’s school and teacher were awful? And that the local school board was adamantly opposed to doing anything substantial about it?

Julie Collier was confronted with this exact situation.

The most significant moment occurred when her son’s teacher said this:

“We have nothing to offer your child”

She did two things in response:

  1. Started the Parents Advocate LeagueScreen Shot 2016-04-05 at 2.16.37 PM
  2. Became a founding-family member of a local K-8 charter schoolScreen Shot 2016-04-05 at 2.18.28 PM

Here’s a short video describing what transpired:

If you’re a parent (or KNOW someone who’s a parent), you’ll NOT want to miss this.
